Highlander: The Board Game

Created by River Horse

With stories by famous novelist Graham McNeill, and games design by award-winning designer Alessio Cavatore and Jack Caesar, Highlander the Board game is a quick-playing game for up to 6 players in which you duel throughout the ages in order to be the last immortal standing and claim the prize. You will choose an immortal from the timeless movie (and who knows, maybe even all new characters!). You will collect allies and live entire lives to give you the greatest chance at winning your duels - but you do not get to decide when exactly you will meet your foes on the battlefield – all you can do is prepare in the hope that you are the more powerful! FINAL STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED!
about 8 years ago – Sun, Feb 04, 2018 at 12:01:54 AM

That's right folks, Naminaga in her geisha gear was our final stretch goal! "The most dangerous girl you'll never meet"

Don't forget our finale live stream tomorrow where we will play through the game and see out the end of the kickstarter with our backers. If you didn't catch our last stream you can find it here.

We realise that each of these updates essentially becoming us thanking you over and over again might become a little repetitive so this time I thought we would go over exactly what you will be getting for your £29!

A rules booklet, A game board, 10 polyhedral dice, 14 character sheets, game tokens and 135 cards.

Oh, there might be a few miniatures in there as well:

Connor MacLeod - The Highlander

Russell Nash - The Highlander

Vitor - The Kurgan

Victor Kruger - The Kurgan

Sunda Kastagir - The Zulu

Vincent Smythe - The Zulu

Iman Fasil - The Knight

Iman Fasil (Modern) - The Knight

Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez - The Peacock

Ikhemu-Sek - The Peacock

Talia - The Goddess

Ix-Tlalli - The Goddess

Amy Gray - The Ghost

Naminaga Minamoto - The Ghost

That is 7 characters across 14 miniatures and over 3000 years! Quite the step up from what we were originally able to offer, and that is not even mentioning Osta Vasilek, two more miniatures you can add by upping your pledge by £10!

And of course, a spin of Iman Fasil, the owner of the million dollar sword.

Vasilek add on unlocked!
about 8 years ago – Sat, Feb 03, 2018 at 09:49:13 PM

Before we get to Vasilek I would just like to point out that we have just reached 1000 backers, thank you all so much!

As thanks for all of your support and because so many of you asked about him, we are proud to reveal our kickstarter exclusive add-on - Vasilek.

If you purchase this add on you will receive 2 models of Osta Vasilek taking him from his ancient monk origins to his modern day pugilist. Each model will be made of white metal and will come with a character sheet to integrate him into the game.

To add Osta Vasilek to your pledge, follow these steps:

1. Click the “manage your pledge” button on the project’s page. If you have not pledged yet it will say 'back this project'.

2. Increase your pledge by £10. If you wish multiple copies of Vasilek you can increase your pledge by the approppriate amount (£10 per copy of Vasilek add-on)

3. Save your pledge. Do not change the tier that you originally pledged at. After the campaign finishes we will send a survey which will ask you whether you requested the Vasilek add-on.

16th Stretch Goal Unlocked! - Talia
about 8 years ago – Sun, Jan 28, 2018 at 12:43:22 AM

Yes! We made it! Talia, the bloodthirsty cartel leader is joining the fray!

Next we have an altogether  more graceful immortal, one who perhaps lacks in pure strength but more than makes up for it in cunning and subtlety - Naminaga Minimoto

Remember that we will be talking about Naminaga and more in tonight's live stream at 19:00 EST, you can join us here!

From Graham McNeill's biography:

"Born in 1174 to the Minamoto clan, Naminaga’s earliest memories were of a conflict known as the Genpei war. In victory, her clan’s leader, Minamoto no Yoritomo, took the title Shogun and established his capital in Kamakura. It was a time of war and rebellions, alliances forged and pacts broken. The defeat of Yoritomo’s rivals at the Battle of Dan-no-ura in 1185 saw her clan finally consolidate its power, and establish the supremacy of the Samurai warrior caste. It also began what would grow to become Japan’s feudal age.

The society around Naminaga was strictly hierarchical, and women were neither expected nor permitted to bear arms. Naminaga’s tutor was a wounded Samurai named Shijo, and he knew that women and children died just the same as men in the aftermath of wars and rebellions. To fight as a Samurai was out of the question, so, in secret, he taught her how to use her slight build and swiftness to her advantage. Naminaga trained without armour and bore only lighter blades. She learned to fight with a bow and throwing daggers; to hunt in darkness and to strike from the shadows. Such covert means of fighting were anathema to the Samurai, but Naminaga excelled in such methods."

In the game Naminaga plays extremely differently for she, more than any other immortal, lives and dies on her quickening tokens. As other immortals spend their time gaining power, Naminaga smiles as she knows that that power will only be used against them in turn.
